Every time I see that sign on the outside of the church in HIMYM that says To everything there is a season, I can’t help but have the same thought.

Season 5 was not right for Barney and Robin. Season 8 is.

That passage from the Bible basically means that everything has a time, a place and a purpose. That sometimes something can be irrevocably perfect, but fall apart because it’s not the right time for it just yet.

It also reminds me of Lily’s whole”Chemistry vs. Timing” thing from earlier in S7.

They couldn’t have picked a more perfect quote for Barney and Robin.

Because they’re soulmates…. they just haven’t found the right time yet.
